Issey Miyake is a Japanese fashion designer who is known for the structured, 3D shapes in his clothing.
He experiments with new methods of pleating and smocking to allow the wearer more flexibility and movement.
I think this is a really interesting way of achieving geometric pattern without the use of decorative stitch or print.
These techniques are definitely something I would like to experiment with in part 2 of this project.
