Extra Research: Scandinavian DesignPosted: October 16, 2015
I have always been interested in Scandinavian design, and all aspects of it, for example furniture, fashion and interiors. I had a look into what actually can be classed as Scandinavian design and where its influences are from.
Scandinavia consists of Denmark, Norway and Sweden and characteristics that I’ve noticed within Scandinavian (or Scandi) Design include:
- Neutral Colours:
- Calm and serene
A polar night is a period of darkness up to 24 hours inside the polar circles. As the sun descends below the horizon, the sky turns different shades of blue and violet. In Sweden this is known as the ‘blue moment’. These colours are often seen within Scandi design.
